Overview
In an earlier retail operations role, planners and business stakeholders repeatedly needed the same kinds of visibility: inventory with no sellable path, stock risk caused by process gaps, unusual ordering patterns, and category views that were difficult to assemble quickly from raw tables.
The problem was not a lack of data. It was that the data was still too expensive to turn into a usable operating view every time the question came up.
I built a set of recurring reporting workflows and self-serve dashboards that turned those repeated questions into scheduled outputs. The goal was to reduce repeated manual follow-up, not to create a large reporting platform.
The useful design choice was keeping each output simple: a clear summary for fast scanning and enough detail behind it for follow-up action.
Workflow
Data was accumulated on a daily or periodic cadence so reports reflected recent operational state without requiring a fresh analyst pass each time.
Each output started with a compact summary view so category leads and planners could tell quickly whether attention was needed.
Reports also included the raw or near-raw detail needed for follow-up, so users could move from signal to action without asking for a second analysis.
Where recurring monitoring was more useful than a static report, I built dashboard views so stakeholders could inspect current conditions directly.
