Codex Control
Current window does not respond.
Allow Stream Deck in macOS Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Bring the intended Codex task window to the front and press the key again. Keep Codex’s Copy deeplink shortcut set to Command-Option-L. A remote task must already be reachable in Codex. The plugin stops if the captured task changes before applying settings.
Installation and requirements →
My button says “SELECT TASK.”
Open the button settings in Stream Deck. Under “Select a task for the Deck,” select a recent local task and click “Select and open.” The last manually selected task is restored after the plugin restarts.
The task does not open or settings do not apply.
Keep Codex Desktop running and open the intended task in the app. Select and open it again from the button settings. Refresh the task list if needed. Read the error shown in the settings panel and include it in a bug report.
A model or effort is unavailable.
Refresh the list and choose a model and effort supported by your signed-in account. Presets do not grant access to models or settings.
Changing the settings did not affect my task.
Editing a button saves its configuration. Press the physical Stream Deck key to apply it. Changes affect the next turn, not a response already running. Current-window settings inputs can wait in order: QUEUED marks retained inputs. Up to eight can wait for ten seconds; task switches, clipboard capture, navigation, or a full queue may stop an input.
How do I report a Codex Control problem?
Include your Stream Deck app and plugin versions, macOS version, button action, whether the target was Current window, fixed, or selected on Deck, and the exact error. Avoid sending task conversations or authentication information.
